Lucknow, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party, launched a fierce critique of the Yogi government regarding the upcoming BRICS Summit 2026 and issues of law enforcement in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking to reporters in Lucknow, he asserted that the nation’s image cannot be built solely through grand events. Instead, he emphasized that meaningful support from state governments and adherence to democratic values are essential for realizing the dream of a developed India.
Commenting on the BRICS Summit, Yadav stated, “Such events provide opportunities for cooperation with other nations on multiple fronts. However, to achieve the dream of a developed India, the contribution and support of state governments are crucial. You cannot question your state government. If someone asks you a question, you take action against them. If you aspire for a ‘developed India,’ there must at least be the freedom to ask questions in a democracy. Simply organizing events or hiding some issues will not present your true image.”
Yadav further criticized the government on agricultural matters, questioning its progress. “You are part of BRICS. What advancements have you made in agriculture? My first question is about ‘regenerative agriculture.’ What fair price are you providing to farmers? We come from Kannauj, and you are unable to ensure a fair price even for potatoes. Which crops are you providing fair prices for? You are even failing to supply fertilizers.”
He also condemned the misuse of the Gangsters Act, referencing comments from the Allahabad High Court. Yadav remarked, “As long as this Chief Minister and this government remain in power, the rule of law will not prevail. They are acting arbitrarily and giving the police free rein. If the High Court itself says that the Gangsters Act has been misused, it reflects how the government operates.”
