Lucknow, August 19: Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party (SP), has launched a strong attack on the BJP government regarding the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) actions against Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, linked to Azam Khan. He accused the BJP leaders of targeting opposition figures while ignoring serious corruption cases.
In a post on the social media platform X, Yadav stated that the ED’s actions are an attempt by the BJP to appease its remaining communal supporters. He highlighted various corruption cases and irregularities, criticizing the government for its selective enforcement.
Yadav’s tweet emphasized that BJP members, who oppose education and teachers, are conducting ED raids against those establishing universities. He claimed this is to satisfy their 1-2% remaining supporters with narrow communal views, while no action is taken against corrupt individuals involved in serious criminal activities.
The former Chief Minister also referenced issues ranging from the Ram Temple donation case to the protection of caste-based criminals, the smuggling of codeine cough syrup, and various corruption scandals. He criticized the state of infrastructure projects initiated during the BJP’s tenure, mentioning the dilapidated Bundelkhand Expressway, the bumpy Purvanchal Expressway, and pothole-ridden Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway, among others.
Yadav further pointed out corrupt police officers caught in other states and alleged large-scale corruption under the guise of smart city projects. He accused BJP representatives of illegal constructions on rejected land and claimed that officials are misusing their power to distribute a share of ₹7,000 crores through propaganda.
