Renuka Chowdhury Questions Government on Ram Temple Donations and Political Issues

New Delhi, August 19: Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Renuka Chowdhury has raised pointed questions about the central government’s handling of the Ram Temple donation issue, the Vande Mataram controversy, and broader political dynamics. In a recent discussion, she shared her views on several pressing matters.

Regarding the Special Investigation Team (SIT) clearing Champat Rai in the Ram Temple donation case, Chowdhury stated that it was expected that those at lower levels would be sacrificed to protect influential figures. She remarked, “This was bound to happen. We knew this would be the outcome. They will sacrifice the small players and save Champat Rai.”

Chowdhury further asserted, “All these temples are being built so that theft can occur. They have forgotten that if they play with the dignity of Maryada Purushottam Ram, they will not escape. They are under his curse.”

It is noteworthy that on Tuesday, the SIT investigating the Ram Temple donation case cleared former General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Champat Rai, and former trust member Anil Mishra. Both had resigned from their positions on June 27 following allegations of irregularities in the management of donations to the temple. Subsequently, the SIT interrogated them as part of the investigation into the management and collection of donations.

On the question of viewing the entire Vande Mataram song through a political and Hindu-Muslim lens, she commented, “The decision was made due to the atmosphere at that time. Why they are doing it today, only they know, and God knows. In any case, Lord Ram is sitting apart from them.”

When asked about the future of the ‘Cockroach Public Party’, Chowdhury stated, “In a democracy, we cannot predict outcomes like fortune tellers. Who would have thought that a single court remark would lead to the formation of a ‘Cockroach Party’? That is the uniqueness of this democracy. Until democracy survives, no one can say what will happen. The voices of the youth must remain strong.”
