Mumbai, August 4: Akanksha Chaudhary remains in the spotlight following her exit from the Netflix reality show “Lock Up 2.” Amid the controversy surrounding Ram Kapoor’s habit of kissing female contestants on the forehead and cheeks, she has come to his defense. Chaudhary stated that she has never witnessed Kapoor making anyone feel uncomfortable.
In an exclusive interview, Akanksha acknowledged that such incidents occur in the industry but insisted that Kapoor’s intentions were never inappropriate.
She remarked, “I understand that these things happen both in the industry and outside. I’m not commenting on that. However, during my time on the show, I spoke with Ram sir daily. In the secret room, I heard everything Shreya said about him. There was nothing wrong; Ram sir did not make anyone uncomfortable.”
Recalling a conversation inside the house, she mentioned that Shreya Kalra once remarked in front of Shilpa Shinde that Ram Kapoor kisses her more than her own father does.
Akanksha added, “When I was in the secret room, I believe Shreya said in front of Shilpa Shinde that Ram sir kisses me more than my father does. But Shilpa ji responded, ‘No, no, he doesn’t do that.’”
She further explained that Shreya clarified her comments were not meant in a negative way. “Shreya said, ‘Of course, I don’t mean it that way. I’m just saying that he does it frequently.’ She was very comfortable discussing it.”
Additionally, when Ram Kapoor’s wife, Gautami Kapoor, appeared on the show, she apologized on his behalf. She stated, “If he has made anyone uncomfortable, I apologize on his behalf.” However, Gautami also defended her husband, describing him as having a gentle nature, akin to a ‘teddy bear,’ and emphasized that his intentions were not malicious.
For those unaware, Ram Kapoor faced criticism on social media recently. Clips from the show went viral, showing him kissing female contestants on the forehead and cheeks. Many viewers claimed that these actions made some contestants feel uncomfortable.
