New Delhi, October 9 (Daily Kiran) : The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has issued an advisory for passengers traveling on the Namoh Bharat train, in light of the upcoming protest organized by the Cockroach People’s Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar.
According to the advisory, the Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar Namoh Bharat stations in Delhi will be temporarily closed. This closure will affect passenger boarding and alighting at these stations.
Passengers are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and consider alternative travel arrangements if necessary.
The NCRTC has confirmed that the stations will be closed from 9 PM on October 9 until 10 PM on October 10. This measure aims to ensure passenger safety and the smooth operation of services during the protest.
Train services between Anand Vihar (Delhi) and Modipuram (Uttar Pradesh) will continue to operate as scheduled, though passengers will not be able to board or exit at Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar stations.
The NCRTC has urged travelers to heed the advisory to avoid inconvenience during the station closures. It specifically advises those traveling to and from Delhi on October 10 to allocate extra time for their journeys and to arrange alternative means of transport if needed.
Notably, the upcoming protest has garnered support from other political parties amid allegations of vote theft related to the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Review (SIR) campaign.
In response to the planned demonstration, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that entry and exit gates at 57 metro stations will be closed from 9 PM on October 9 until further notice. The New Delhi metro station will remain open for interchange services, while other affected stations will have limited access.
