Adani Group Achieves Major Milestone with Net Zero Leadership Award at India Climate Week 2026

New Delhi, March 27: The Adani Group has reached a significant milestone by being awarded the ‘Net Zero Leadership’ accolade during the ‘India Climate Week 2026’ held in the national capital. The announcement was made by the group on Friday.

The award was presented by Shri Pralhad Joshi, the Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, during an event organized by the Carbon Markets Association of India.

Dr. Arun Kumar Sharma, Group Head of ESG at Adani, accepted the award on behalf of the company. He stated that this recognition reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to a scientifically driven, low-carbon future.

Dr. Sharma emphasized that the Adani Group is rapidly investing in renewable energy, green hydrogen, and integrated infrastructure while focusing on reducing carbon emissions across all operations and value chains.

This award also highlights the Adani Group’s efforts to enhance clean energy capacity, develop green hydrogen technology, and create sustainable infrastructure, thereby strengthening India’s energy transition process.

The Adani Group is consistently working towards its ‘Net Zero’ goal and promoting clean energy solutions, aiding India in achieving a low-carbon economy and the vision of a ‘Developed India.’

Additionally, this month, the Adani Group was selected as the official partner for World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development (WEDS) 2026. This international day is celebrated by UNESCO in collaboration with the World Federation of Engineering Organizations.

This marks the first time an Indian organization has been entrusted with the responsibility of honoring engineers’ contributions at this event.

Sagar Adani, Executive Director of Adani Green Energy, stated that they are demonstrating that clean energy can be large-scale, affordable, powerful, and inclusive. He highlighted that the Khavda Renewable Energy Plant in Gujarat serves as a significant example of India’s climate action, showcasing the collective strength of Adani Green Energy, Adani Energy Solutions, and Adani New Industries working together to advance the country towards clean and sustainable energy.
