Adani Electricity Retains Top Spot as Indias Leading Power Distribution Company for Second Consecutive Year

Mumbai, March 21: Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited, a key subsidiary of the Adani Group, has maintained its position as India’s premier power distribution company for the second consecutive year. The company achieved a remarkable score of 92.5, reflecting its outstanding performance.

According to the company’s statement, it received an A+ rating in an evaluation of 66 power distribution companies across the country. This rating was awarded based on criteria such as reliable electricity supply, accurate billing, and prompt resolution of complaints.

Kandarp Patel, the Managing Director and CEO of Adani Electricity, stated that retaining the number one position for the second time showcases the hard work and discipline of his team. He emphasized that this achievement goes beyond mere statistics; it also reflects consumer trust.

Patel further added that the company is committed to providing uninterrupted, reliable, and superior electricity service to its consumers in Mumbai.

The power distribution sector in the country is now shifting towards a performance-based model, focusing on operational efficiency, financial discipline, and improved consumer services.

This transformation is evident in the recently released ‘Distribution Utilities Ranking (DUR)’ and ‘Consumer Service Rating of Discoms (CSRD)’ reports, jointly published by the Ministry of Power and REC Limited.

The reports indicate an overall improvement in consumer service across the sector. This year, six companies received an A+ rating, with no company falling to the lowest tier.

Adani Electricity’s strong performance is attributed to financial stability, operational efficiency, better resource utilization, supply planning, and the adoption of digital technologies such as smart meters and data analytics.

Serving over 3 million consumers in Mumbai, the company prioritizes trust, transparency, and speed in its operations.

The rankings included both private and public sector companies, with Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, Noida Power Company Limited, South Gujarat Vij Company Limited, and Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking among the top performers.

This clearly indicates that competition in the power distribution sector is intensifying, driven by better management, technology, and results-oriented operations.
