Accused in Ketank Agarwal Murder Case Seeks Bail in Pune Court

Sia Goyal, accused in the Ketank Agarwal murder case, filed a bail application in Pune as hearings begin.

Pune, October 31 (Daily Kiran) : Sia Goyal, implicated in the murder of her fiancé Ketank Agarwal, filed for bail on Saturday in a Pune court as the high-profile case commenced hearings. Goyal is accused of collaborating with her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, in the crime.

During the proceedings at the Vadgaon Maval Sessions Court, Goyal submitted two applications: one for bail and another seeking her acquittal. The next hearing is scheduled for November 17.

After the session, prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam briefed reporters about the day’s proceedings. He stated that the prosecution presented details of the case, including evidence collected by the police. The court has allowed the prosecution to present its arguments.

Goyal’s defense attorney argued that there is insufficient evidence against her. The court will hear both applications on November 17.

The third accused, Ritesh Hange, has yet to appoint a lawyer. The court has instructed him to do so before the next hearing, or it will appoint legal representation for him.

Nikam indicated that the prosecution would outline how the alleged murder conspiracy was formed and the evidence linking Goyal and Chaudhary to the crime.

Meanwhile, Goyal’s lawyer, Nitin Bhalerav, raised concerns that the police had not shared technical evidence related to the case. He stated that they had filed an application to gain access to video footage and other materials, which will be addressed in the upcoming hearing.

Senior advocate Vipul Dushim is expected to represent the defense on November 17. Bhalerav asserted that the defense believes the evidence collected by the police is inadequate for a conviction, and they intend to fight the case through trial.

On Saturday, all three accused—Goyal, Chaudhary, and Hange—appeared in court via video conferencing from Pune’s Yerwada Jail.

According to police reports, the 26-year-old Agarwal, a director at a real estate company, was allegedly pushed into a gorge near Lohagad Fort on June 18, resulting in his death.
