Abhishek Sharma Visits Vaishno Devi After T20 World Cup Victory

New Delhi, March 13: Indian opener Abhishek Sharma visited the Vaishno Devi shrine after winning the T20 World Cup 2026. He played a stellar innings in the final against New Zealand, scoring 52 runs off just 21 balls.

Abhishek shared photos on his Instagram account, showcasing a traditional look with folded hands. He captioned the post, “Jai Mata Di.”

Before the final, Abhishek struggled for runs, managing only 89 runs in his first seven innings. His declining form raised several questions. However, captain Suryakumar Yadav and the team management continued to support him, leading to his impressive performance in the final.

In the title match, Abhishek and Sanju Samson formed a formidable partnership, adding 98 runs for the first wicket in just 7.1 overs, dominating the game. During his innings, Abhishek hit six fours and three sixes.

Under Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy, the Indian team claimed the T20 World Cup title for the third time, becoming the first nation to win the T20 World Cup on home soil. They are also the first team to defend the T20 World Cup title successfully.

Following the World Cup, Abhishek will be seen playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2026. He had a strong performance in IPL 2025, scoring 439 runs at a strike rate of 193 in 14 matches, including one century and two half-centuries. Unfortunately, Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to win only six out of 14 matches and did not qualify for the playoffs.
