New Delhi, February 19: A meeting took place in Geneva on Wednesday between Russia and Ukraine. Following this meeting, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his outrage towards Russia. He stated that he does not need any historical nonsense to end the war.
Zelensky took to social media platform X to express his thoughts, saying, “I do not require historical nonsense to end this war and move towards diplomacy, as it is merely a way to delay matters. I have read no fewer history books than Putin, and I have learned a lot. I know more about his country than he knows about Ukraine, simply because I have been to Russia, visited many cities, and met many people there. They have never been to Ukraine as often. They have only visited large cities. I have traveled to small towns, from the north to the south, everywhere.”
He further added that he understands their mindset, which is why he does not want to waste time on these matters. It is about them. They have chosen to create such a system. The Russians have decided to change themselves.
Zelensky emphasized, “A major war is underway against us. This is our life. I only want to convey to them that we need to resolve this in the most effective way possible. I mean we need to end this war quickly, so I only want to talk about such matters.”
He also mentioned, “I know that the Americans and perhaps some Europeans are discussing a new document between NATO and Russia. When they have such a document, they can discuss everything, but it is crucial for me that they discuss our potential place in NATO with us. Not just with the Russians, but with us, because this is about us. However, they can do this without us. We may not know everything. In any case, if someone is surprised, we will respond.”
