
Patna, April 5: A tragic incident has emerged from the Danrhua area of Patna district, Bihar, where a young man was shot dead over a dispute regarding tethering a buffalo. Following the incident, police have launched an investigation.
The altercation took place in Nizamet village, where a longstanding feud between two families escalated into violence. According to police reports, Bijendra Prasad, aged 70, confronted Sonu Kumar’s family over the buffalo tethering issue. On Sunday, Bijendra went to Sonu’s house and brought a buffalo that was tied there back to his own home.
Witnesses claim that Sonu Kumar arrived at the scene shortly after. Before Sonu could respond, Bijendra allegedly fired a shot, hitting Sonu. Villagers rushed to the scene upon hearing the gunfire and quickly transported the injured man to a hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Kanhaiya Singh, the sub-divisional police officer from Masaurhi, stated that police arrived promptly at the scene and initiated an investigation. A forensic team has also been called in to gather evidence. The police have taken possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. The accused is currently on the run, and police are conducting raids in various areas to apprehend him. Legal proceedings are underway.
