Youth, aides who fled with 80L from Mumbai jeweler, arrested in Chittorgarh

Udaipur : A youth who whisked off with 80 lakh rupees from a Mumbai based jeweler was arrested along with his five aides in Chittorgarh on Wednesday night. A joint team of the Mumbai and Chittorgarh police detained the gang who have been given in custody of Mumbai Police. 

Deepak Bhargava, SP Chittorgarh said the Mumbai police team had sought assistance in nabbing the criminals for which a special team was constituted under the supervision of ASP Sarita Singh. The accused Manish Jain (22) resident of Vijaynagar in Ajmer worked with a jeweler Arihant Jain who had a showroom on Thakur Marg, Mumbai. The accused stole 80 lakh rupees from the office and took a taxi to Gujarat from where he reached Pushkar, Ajmer. The accused kept some money with his mother and left for Bhilwara where he met some of his old friends and sought their help to flee away to Nepal.

“His friends found out the jewelers number and called him to tell about Manish.They demanded 10 lakh rupees in lieu of giving details about him and not letting him leave the country”  Bhargava said. Manish and his aides reached Chittorgarh where they reportedly indulged in a quarrel for the money. The Kotwali police detained his friends Mohit Sharma, Pankaj, JaiKishan Mali, Manish Pandey and Vishal Singh for breaching peace and aiding the accused. Manish told the police that he had kept 70 lakh rupees at an acquaintance home in Mumbai while some money he spent partying with friends.
