Yogi orders strict Covid vigil in bordering districts

Lucknow, April 13 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to keep a strict vigil in the bordering districts of the state against Covid, officials informed on Wednesday. However the Covid vaccination drive was underway in the state with full pace and till now 30.56 million people have been given doses. On Wednesday 55 fresh cases of Covid were reported in the state and total active cases in the state was currently at 307. “Cases of Covid are increasing in some bordering states, so special vigilance should be taken in the border districts, CM Yogi Adityanath said while monitoring the Covid situation in the state with his Team 9 members on Wednesday morning. “With more than 30.56 million Covid vaccinations done so far more than 103.65 per cent of the adult population has received the first dose of the vaccine, while 85.63 per cent have received both the doses. The progress of imm zation in the 12 to 14 and 15 to 17 age groups is going on satisfactorily. It should be accelerated,” he said. CM said at present, the total number active cases stand at 307. Out of these, 293 people are being treated at home. In the last 24 hours, 1,24,673 corona tests were done, in which 55 new corona patients were confirmed and in the same period, 37 people were treated and were cured of corona. At present the positivity rate is 0.05 per cent. He said the work of giving booster doses to people of 18+ age group has also started. Booster dose can be administered at 700 private imm zation centers. MB ACL1315
