Beijing, April 27: Xiaomi has launched a new 100W GaN USB-A charger bundle on its Youpin platform in China. Priced at 169 yuan (approximately $25), the package includes a high-power charger and a 1-meter USB-A to USB-C cable.
The charger utilizes gallium nitride (GaN) technology, which enhances power efficiency and reduces heat generation compared to traditional silicon-based chargers. Designed for portability, it measures 55.9 x 49.3 x 28mm and weighs only 106 grams. The charger features a sleek white finish with a prominent 100W label on the side.
Equipped with a single USB-A port, the charger delivers a maximum output of 100W. It supports various voltage and current configurations, including 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 11V/6.1A, and 20V/5A, making it compatible with a wide array of devices.
According to Xiaomi, the adapter can charge devices such as the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and 17 Pro to 83% in just 30 minutes. The Xiaomi 17 reaches 63-67% in the same timeframe. Similarly, the iPhone 17 Pro Max and 17 Pro charge to 72% and 70% in 30 minutes, although Apple’s charging limitations prevent full utilization of the 100W output.
The bundle includes a 1-meter USB-A to USB-C cable that supports a maximum current of 6A, enabling the charger to achieve its full 100W output.
Safety is a priority for Xiaomi, as the charger features protections against overvoltage, overcurrent, overheating, short circuits, undervoltage, and electromagnetic interference. Its outer casing is made from UL94-V0 fire-resistant material, ensuring durability and safety for extended use.
In related news, Xiaomi has also introduced an ultra-slim 10kg washer-dryer with intelligent wash and dry modes, along with a 12kg ultra-slim washing machine designed for large capacity and enhanced deep-clean performance.
