Xiaomi 17 Pro Gets “Magic Back Screen” with Watch Faces & Viewfinder

Beijing, 21 September (Kiran News). Xiaomi has confirmed that both the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and the Xiaomi 17 Pro will feature a secondary display built into the rear camera island. The company revealed the design in a teaser video posted on Weibo.

Magic Back Screen

Xiaomi is branding the rear panel display as the “Magic Back Screen.” While official specifications like size and resolution have not been shared, the teaser shows multiple functions:

Customizable watch faces
Notifications preview
Camera viewfinder support for selfies and vlogging

The addition marks Xiaomi’s return to secondary rear screens after the Mi 11 Ultra (2021), which carried a compact 1.1-inch AMOLED panel on its camera island.

Xiaomi 17 Pro Series

The Xiaomi 17 Pro lineup is expected to refine the brand’s flagship design with slimmer bezels, improved cameras, and now the added utility of the Magic Back Screen. More details about the series are expected in the coming weeks as launch nears.
