X Takes Action Against AI-Generated War Videos Amid Rising Tensions

New Delhi, March 4: Elon Musk’s social media platform, X, has announced significant changes to its creator revenue-sharing program. The company stated it will take a firm stance against misleading AI-generated videos, especially during sensitive times like war.

This decision comes amid growing concerns over misinformation related to rising tensions between the United States, Israel, and Iran.

In a post, X’s product head, Nikita Bier, mentioned that the company is updating its policies to ensure accurate and reliable information reaches the public during wartime. She explained that the rapid increase in the use of artificial intelligence has made it easier to create realistic-looking fake videos that can mislead viewers.

Bier highlighted a recent incident where a person in Pakistan was operating 31 accounts that posted AI-generated war videos. All these accounts had been hacked and their names altered.

Under the new policy, any user who posts AI-generated war videos without clear information will be suspended from the revenue-sharing program for 90 days. Repeated violations may lead to permanent removal from the program.

The company has also introduced a label called “Made with AI,” which will appear on posts containing AI-generated content. This aims to inform users that the material is not authentic.

X hopes this initiative will enhance transparency and help prevent the spread of misinformation.

Recently, global tensions escalated following reports of Ali Khamenei’s alleged death. Amid these events, Musk and Bier noted that traffic on X has reached an all-time high, as users increasingly turn to the platform for the latest updates.
