Women of Delhi feel neglected: Cong

New Delhi, March 8 : Congress on Tuesday accused Delhi government of neglecting women-related issues. It alleged that owing to the AAP government’s ‘anti-women policies’ and ‘programmes’, the women of the city feel the most harassed, alienated and neglected. “Thousands of women ad-hoc teachers, anganwadi workers/helpers, nurses and doctors have been protesting for the past many weeks, demanding hike in wages, clearance of pending salaries and arrears, and regularization of jobs, but Chief Minister did not bother to meet them, though the protests have been happening outside his residence,” said Ch Anil Kumar, president, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee. “The main victims of the new excise policy were women as they suffered the brunt of liquor addiction among family members, including fathers, brothers, husbands and sons,” Kumar added. “The women have been suffering untold misery on account of the Covid-19 pandemic devastation and price rise, but Delhi government has ironically stopped widow pension,” said Kumar. Kumar said that Arvind Kejriwal made so many promises for the uplift of women but did not bother to fulfill them. CM GK
