Will not take a step without consent of my supporters: Vijay Sardesai

Panaji, March 20 : Goa Forward Party (GFP) President Vijay Sardesai on Sunday assured his supporters that he would not take any step without their consent. In a tweet, he said there was a need to introspect what was sacrificed in the recently held assembly elections to uphold the people’s anti-government sentiment. He also said that apart from the opposition, the media too should introspect. ”Media fishing expeditions apart, I reassure my voters that I’ll not take a step without your support & consent. What did we sacrifice for #Goa this election to uphold the people’s anti-Govt sentiment? Weren’t we selfish? Along with the opposition, media must introspect too. GFP had contested the assembly elections in alliance with the Congress. It won 1 seat while the Congress won 11. However, within a fortnight differences have surfaced in the alliance with leaders of both parties accusing each other for the poor performance. It started with North Goa District Congress President Vijai Bhike who said that it was wrong to have an alliance with the GFP for the assembly elections. GFP candidates Santosh Kumar Sawant (Mayem) and Deepak Kalangutkar (Mandrem) pointed out that their leader and party president Vijay Sardesai had given a call for ty against the Bharatiya Janata Party but local Congress leaders slow to move. However, Goa Congress has issued notice to Bhike for making the statement and demanded an explanation. AKM ACL1221
