Central observers arrive Manipur to discuss BJP legislator leadership issue

Imphal, Mar 20 : BJP Central observers arrived here on Sunday to take stock of the leadership issue of BJP Manipur. After the announcement of results of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly on March 10, the BJP has not yet been able to announce the name of the Chief Minister. on Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, and on Law Minister Kiren Rijiju were appointed Observers by the BJP. They arrived with on Forest Minister Bhupender Yadav, Caretaker Chief Minister N Biren, N Biswajit, former Speaker Y Khemchand and BJP leader Sambit Patra arrived at Imphal airport on the same flight. All of them refused to give any comment about the announcement of the new Chief Minister. BJP leaders said they will hold talks with the BJP legislators and may take a decision. BJP won 32 seats in the 60 member House and all political parties which won the elections except the Congress with five MLAs have extended support to the BJP. N Biren won from Heingang and Th Biswajit from Thongju emphatically and both leaders met on Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday. BJP leaders were expecting an announcement of the new Chief Minister after meeting the legislators as the BJP observers were scheduled to return to New Delhi later today (Sunday). NS RN
