Kolkata, April 27: During a recent roadshow in Kolkata, Union Minister JP Nadda spoke with reporters, expressing his observations of the enthusiastic public response. He stated, “The energy here is palpable. The people of West Bengal are determined to teach Mamata Banerjee a lesson.”
Nadda highlighted the public’s readiness to vote against issues like corruption, extortion, and violence associated with the Trinamool Congress (TMC), including the sand and coal mafias and incidents of women’s harassment. “The public has made up its mind to bring in a BJP government and send Mamata didi home,” he asserted.
He noted that the BJP is performing well in the first phase of elections and that voters are prepared to cast their ballots fearlessly in the second phase. “I urge the public to vote without fear,” he added.
BJP state president Samik Bhattacharya warned that if the TMC regains power, it would spell disaster. He believes that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee understands this reality and has acknowledged the possibility of losing her position. “If the government falls, the TMC party will cease to exist. This is their last chance,” he stated.
BJP MP Ravi Kishan remarked that people are discussing winning 180-200 seats, indicating a historic victory. “On the 29th, we expect a 92% voter turnout. This election will be recorded in India’s history,” he claimed.
Kishan also mentioned an attack on him by TMC supporters during a rally, interpreting it as a sign of TMC’s impending defeat. “Their goons are attacking because they know they are losing,” he stated.
BJP candidate Rajesh Kumar from the Jagaddal constituency revealed that he received a notice from the police after addressing local criminals and anti-social elements, urging them to mend their ways. “If they do not reform or surrender to the police, criminal charges will be filed against them,” he explained. He added that TMC supporters misrepresented his statements to portray him as threatening an ordinary citizen, leading to the police notice.
