Raipur, May 14: In a thrilling encounter of IPL 2026, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) triumphed over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by six wickets. The star of the match was Virat Kohli, who delivered an outstanding unbeaten innings of 105 runs, setting multiple records in the process.

Kohli showcased his batting prowess with a strike rate of 175, hitting 11 fours and 3 sixes off just 60 balls. He formed a crucial partnership of 92 runs for the second wicket with Devdutt Padikkal, achieved in just 59 balls. This century marks Kohli’s ninth in the IPL, and his second against KKR. He now shares the record for the most centuries against a single team in the league with Jos Buttler, who has also scored two centuries against both KKR and RCB.

Kohli has climbed to the third position among players with the most T20 centuries, reaching his 10th century in T20 cricket. He holds the record for the most centuries in IPL history.

Additionally, Kohli crossed the 14,000-run mark in T20s, becoming the fastest player to achieve this milestone in terms of innings. He reached this landmark in his 409th innings, surpassing Chris Gayle, who accomplished it in 423 innings. For his remarkable performance, Kohli was named ‘Player of the Match.’ He is now tied for the most ‘Player of the Match’ awards among Indian players in the IPL, with a total of 21, alongside Rohit Sharma.
