Violence Erupts Over Illegal Tent Installation in Delhi Park, FIR Filed Against AAP Members

New Delhi, March 3: A disturbing incident has emerged from a public park in Shalimar Bagh, where leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have been accused of violent behavior over the illegal installation of a tent. Serious allegations have been made against Vandana Kumari, a former MLA from Shalimar Bagh, her husband, and their associates, who reportedly assaulted municipal corporation (MCD) employees, used abusive language, and issued death threats.

According to the FIR filed by Rajneesh Kumar, a horticulture department employee, the incident occurred on March 2, 2026. Kumar stated that a large tent was being erected in the CA Block park without any permission. When he and his fellow employees inquired about the authorization, they were met with hostility and verbal abuse.

Kumar alleges that the illegal occupation was orchestrated by Vandana Kumari’s husband and his team. When the government employees attempted to remove the tent in accordance with regulations, the accused reacted violently, attacking Kumar and his colleague Vipul.

This incident serves as a stark illustration of the growing lawlessness among AAP leaders. While the previous Delhi government claims to uphold integrity, relatives of former legislators are reportedly targeting on-duty government workers.

Local councilor Anita Jain sharply criticized the events in the CA Block park, describing them as not merely a dispute but an act of AAP’s thuggery. She labeled Sajjan Kumar, Vandana Kumari’s husband, as a habitual offender with a history of violence, threats, and intimidation recorded by the police in the area.

Jain further emphasized that when a government employee attempts to protect public property from illegal occupation, attacking them and issuing threats indicates a complete disregard for the law. These individuals, steeped in the arrogance of power, now perceive themselves as above the Constitution.

She questioned whether illegal occupation of public parks is becoming a part of the new political culture. There is a clear demand for prompt and impartial action under the relevant sections of the law regarding the FIR. It is also expected that the investigation will remain free from political pressure, ensuring the safety of government employees on duty. The political party involved is urged to clarify its stance on this issue and apologize to the victims.
