Vijay Kumar qualifies for the 25m centerfire pistol event

Hamirpur (HP), April 1 : Olympian Vijay Kumar of Harsaur village of Hamirpur district has once again qualified for the international events in the 25m center fire event that he won at the National level selection trials held at Bhopal recently with 585 points. With this, he has now qualified for International Games, World Cup and Asian Games. The Army officer turned police officer, DSP Vijay Kumar had won a silver medal in the in the 25m rapid fire pistol at the 2012 London Olympics while he was serving in the Indian Army. There is a wave of happiness in Hamirpur district and the rest of Himachal on the achievement of Vijay Kumar in the National Selection Trial held in Bhopal from March 8 to 30. Born on August 19, 1985 in Harsaur village of Hamirpur, Vijay Kumar won two gold medals in the Commonwealth Games in 2006 in 25 meters rapid fire. He won a silver medal at the Beijing ISSF World Cup, three gold medals and a silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. He was recruited as a soldier in the Indian Army and retired from the army with the rank of Captain on the basis of hard work and international achievements.
