Mumbai, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : As the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations commence, Maharashtra resonates with the chants of devotion for Lord Ganesha. The vibrant atmosphere peaks at Lalbaugcha Raja, the festival’s focal point, attracting devotees and dignitaries alike. On Friday, Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan made a significant visit to the iconic Ganesh idol, seeking blessings from the deity.
Sharing his experience on social media platform X, Radhakrishnan posted pictures of his visit, stating, “Today, I worshipped Lord Ganesha at Lalbaugcha Raja in Mumbai. This revered site symbolizes the rich cultural heritage, deep devotion, and strong community spirit of Mumbai. I prayed for the welfare, peace, and prosperity of all. Ganapati Bappa Morya!”
Following his visit to Lalbaugcha Raja, Radhakrishnan met with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at his residence. He also took part in the traditional aarti, sharing images of the occasion on social media. In his post, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to worship Lord Ganesha at the Chief Minister’s home.
Fadnavis warmly welcomed the Vice President, sharing on X, “It was an honor to host Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan for the divine darshan and blessings of Ganapati Bappa at Varsha Bungalow in Mumbai today.”
Lalbaugcha Raja, located in the Parel area of Mumbai, is the most famous public Ganesh mandal in India. Since 1935, the Kambli family has been responsible for crafting the grand idol that draws thousands of visitors each year.
