Mumbai, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Mumbai on September 18 to participate in a series of religious, cultural, and educational events. He was warmly welcomed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport by notable figures, including Maharashtra Governor Jagdish Mukhi, Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Mangal Prabhat Lodha, and Minister of Cultural Affairs Ashish Shelar.
On Friday morning, Radhakrishnan will visit the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh idol. Later in the day, he will head to Lonavala to attend the platinum jubilee celebrations at the Gordan Das Sekseria College of Yoga and Cultural Synthesis. In the evening, he will participate in the 38th edition of the Pune Festival at the Nehru Stadium in Pune.
Earlier, on Thursday, Radhakrishnan took part in a program commemorating Hyderabad Liberation Day. He remarked that September 17, 1948, marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in the history of independent India, as it was the day when the then Hyderabad state merged into the Indian Union following the events of Operation Polo.
He emphasized that Hyderabad Liberation Day is not merely a date to remember but a reminder of the values that unite the nation. Speaking at the 79th Hyderabad Liberation Day ceremony at Parade Ground in Secunderabad, he highlighted the challenges faced by a new nation in uniting people from diverse political backgrounds. He described it as a narrative of political skill, courage, and sacrifice that paved the way for a constitutional democracy where every citizen has an equal place.
