Rajkot is gearing up to host the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit on January 11 and 12 this year. The event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Several prominent industrialists from across India and abroad are expected to participate in the summit, which is being organised at the Marwadi University campus in Rajkot.
Preparations at the Marwadi University grounds are progressing swiftly. A special dome has been constructed for the inauguration ceremony where Prime Minister Modi will officially launch the summit. Around 4,000 industrialists from Gujarat and other parts of the country are anticipated to attend, with extensive arrangements made for their welcome and comfort.
In addition to the inauguration dome, six to seven other domes have been set up within the campus to host exhibitions from various sectors. These include crafts and village industries, MSMEs, ceramics, defence, energy, and petrochemicals. The event is expected to attract over three lakh visitors who will explore these displays.
Naresh Jadeja, Venue Coordinator and Chief Registrar of Marwadi University, stated that the Gujarat Government is organising the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference on January 11 and 12. He highlighted that this region had previously received limited exposure, and the summit presents a significant opportunity.
Jadeja added that alongside the Prime Minister and Chief Minister, between 2,000 and 4,000 industrialists will participate. The project management by the government has generated considerable enthusiasm among all involved.
He also expressed pride that Marwadi University is hosting this important event on its campus. The university is set to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Gujarat Government involving an investment of around ₹1,000 crore. This investment will be utilised over the next three years to launch new academic programmes, construct academic buildings, enhance hostel facilities, and develop a modern sports complex.
