Udaipur, May 29, 2026 (Daily Kiran): Hindustan Zinc Limited has announced the third edition of the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon, which will be held in Udaipur on September 6, 2026. Organised in association with Anybody Can Run, the marathon will invite runners from across India and abroad to participate in a scenic race route passing through Fateh Sagar Lake and the Aravalli hills.
The marathon will feature 21 km Half Marathon, 10 km Cool Run, 5 km Dream Run and Race with Champions categories, where specially-abled children will also participate. The event has been officially certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races, giving it international recognition as a listed global event.
More than 7,000 participants, including elite international runners and athletes from 27 Indian states, took part in the second edition of the marathon.
Known as one of India’s most scenic marathons, the route will take runners through Udaipur’s landscapes, including the surroundings of Fateh Sagar Lake and the Aravalli hills. Participants will experience the city’s heritage and natural beauty throughout the course.
To improve the race experience, hydration stations will be placed across the route. Medical stations, rest areas, physiotherapists and doctors will also be available for participants during the event.
Over the past two years, the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon has grown beyond a sporting event and emerged as a celebration of fitness, civic pride and community participation. The event has also helped strengthen Udaipur’s identity as a destination for wellness, running and sports tourism.
Registrations for the marathon will officially begin from June 1, 2026 through the official marathon website and Hindustan Zinc’s social media platforms and website. Registration will remain open until all slots are filled. A virtual run option will also be available, allowing participants from anywhere in the world to join.
Participants completing the marathon will receive a special zinc-inspired finisher medal based on Hindustan Zinc’s mining legacy. Runners from across India and overseas are expected to participate in what has become one of the country’s most awaited community sports events.
Through initiatives like the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon, Hindustan Zinc continues to promote grassroots sports development, fitness and active lifestyles.
