Uttarakhand CM Criticizes Congress at Farmers Event in Dehradun

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami criticizes Congress while praising the PM-Kisan scheme during a farmers event in Dehradun.

Dehradun, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed farmers on October 30 during the ‘PM-Kisan Utsav Day’ event in Dehradun. He congratulated farmers for receiving financial support under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Dhami also targeted the Congress party and opposition groups regarding a rally planned for November 1 at Ramleela Maidan in Delhi.

The Chief Minister remarked that Congress poses a danger to the public while in power and proves detrimental to the nation when out of power. He referenced former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s similar sentiments about the party.

Dhami questioned the timing of the opposition’s protests, noting that it coincides with festival celebrations. He accused the opposition of spreading confusion over voter eligibility. “If someone is not eligible, why should their name be on the voter list? How can one person’s vote be registered in three places?” he asked.

He claimed the opposition is attempting to create chaos, which could harm businesses and ordinary citizens. Dhami urged vigilance against foreign influences that may seek to instigate unrest and promote power shifts within the country.

During the event, he highlighted that Prime Minister Modi’s introduction of the PM-Kisan scheme in 2019 was a historic decision for farmers. He noted that the first installment of the scheme benefited 400,000 farmers in Uttarakhand, and the number has since doubled to over 800,000, reflecting growing trust in government initiatives.

Dhami commended Modi for prioritizing farmers’ respect, safety, and prosperity. He stated that the 24th installment of the scheme was recently distributed to farmers across the country through direct bank transfers.

He attributed the nation’s security to the soldiers stationed at the borders and acknowledged that the ample grain reserves are a result of farmers’ hard work. The government is allocating millions in the budget to increase farmers’ incomes and strengthen agricultural practices, emphasizing the need for both traditional and modern farming methods.

The Chief Minister encouraged farmers to take advantage of government welfare schemes and adopt new technologies in agriculture. He also mentioned the significant rise in pilgrims visiting the Char Dham this year, surpassing 6.3 million, and noted that the government is making grand preparations for the upcoming Kumbh Mela in 2027.
