Final Voter List for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to be Released on November 30

The final voter lists for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will be published on November 30, following changes by the Election Commission.

Hyderabad, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : The Election Commission of India has announced that the final voter lists for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will be published on November 30. This decision follows a revision of the “Special Intensive Revision” (SIR) program in both states.

In Telangana, the deadline for issuing notices and addressing claims and objections has been extended to November 26. For Andhra Pradesh, this deadline has been moved to November 20. These changes were made at the request of the Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of both states.

The commission has instructed the CEOs to ensure that all officials are informed about the revised schedule and that it is widely disseminated through all available channels. Political parties will also receive written notifications regarding these changes.

The SIR program has undergone multiple revisions in both states. Initially, the notice phase and the process for handling claims and objections in Telangana were set to conclude on November 5, with the final voter list scheduled for release on November 9. In Andhra Pradesh, the notice phase and claims resolution were supposed to end on October 22, with the final list due on October 30.

Before the SIR process began, Telangana had 33,826,448 registered voters, with 26,487,213 submitting their detail forms. The remaining 7,339,235 voters were categorized as “Absent, Shifted, Deceased, and Duplicate” (ASDD) and were removed from the draft voter list.

As of October 29, a total of 9,288,188 SIR notices had been issued, with 9,281,189 reaching voters. However, 6,999 notices were still pending delivery. Hearings for 9,208,443 notices have been completed.

By the same date, 25,922,684 voters’ names have been approved for inclusion in the final list. This includes 5,931,395 voters whose discrepancies were resolved, and 3,064,168 voters who were previously unregistered. A total of 50,690 voters were deemed ineligible for inclusion in the final list.

In Andhra Pradesh, hearings for 4,428,858 notices have been completed, with 4,255,630 voters approved for the final list. Election officials found 173,662 voters ineligible for inclusion.
