Lucknow, February 17: Uttar Pradesh Minister Dayashankar Singh responded to Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav‘s recent statements, suggesting that Yadav is reminiscing about his own tenure. Singh emphasized that under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh is not just discussed nationally but recognized globally.
Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP government of worsening conditions in the state since 2017. In a media interaction in Lucknow, Singh remarked that Yadav seems to recall a time when law enforcement was unreliable. He highlighted that during Yadav’s administration, inmates would meet directly with the Director General of Police after being released from jail, indicating a breakdown of law and order.
Singh asserted that under Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, either criminals are imprisoned or have fled the state due to fear of the law. He stated that law and order in Uttar Pradesh is currently stable, attracting significant investment, with a reported ₹40 lakh crore flowing into the state. He contrasted this with the previous administration, where industrialists were leaving Uttar Pradesh.
Praising the state’s law enforcement, Singh claimed that Uttar Pradesh’s law and order is now a model cited not just in India but around the world.
Regarding the Congress party’s protests against the ‘Jai Ram Ji’ slogan, Singh stated that their issue lies not with the scheme itself but with the mention of Lord Ram. He criticized Congress for attempting to erase the Ram Setu during their time in power and noted that Congress leaders do not visit Ayodhya to pay respects to Lord Ram.
Singh also commented on Rahul Gandhi, stating that he seems disinterested in India’s development, often choosing to criticize the country while abroad, which he believes tarnishes India’s reputation.
