Uttar Pradesh Transitions from Mafia Rule to Rule of Law, Claims Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declares Uttar Pradesh is free from mafia rule and emphasizes the importance of law and justice.

Lucknow, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that Uttar Pradesh has transitioned from a “rule of mafia” to a “rule of law.” Speaking at the fifth convocation of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University in Lucknow, he highlighted the significant changes in law and order since 2017. Adityanath stated that prior to his administration, doubts existed regarding law enforcement and investment due to the influence of organized crime. He emphasized that the government has successfully established the rule of law, enhancing the state’s image.

Addressing young lawyers, he urged them not to remain silent in the face of injustice, asserting that history would remember their actions. He lit a lamp and offered flowers at the statue of Goddess Saraswati, while students performed a Saraswati Vandana. The Chief Minister awarded medals to outstanding students during the ceremony. He noted that August 15, 1947, and January 26, 1950, are pivotal dates in Indian democracy, alongside June 25, 1975, which illustrated the difference between the rule of law and the ruler’s law.

He referenced Justice H.R. Khanna’s dissenting opinion, stating that decisions made in favor of principles earn a place in history. Adityanath encouraged young lawyers to uphold constitutional values and internalize the mantra “Satyam Vada, Dharmam Chara, Swadhyayat Na Pramadah.” He stressed that truth and continuous learning should be the foundation of a lawyer’s life. Drawing from Dr. Lohia’s philosophy, he advised that legal professionals should embody the intellect of Shiva, the heart of Krishna, and the commitment of Rama.

The Chief Minister presented a vision for a developed India, stating that the aspirations of 1.4 billion citizens must be represented with facts, evidence, and integrity. He highlighted the role of young lawyers in achieving India’s development goals by 2047. Uttar Pradesh aims to establish a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2029-30. While acknowledging that artificial intelligence could facilitate processes, he warned that final decisions must rely on human judgment. He cautioned against careless drafting that could jeopardize the freedom of innocent individuals, noting the challenges posed by deepfakes and cybercrime to the credibility of evidence. The state has established cyber police stations in all 75 districts and cyber help desks in 1,583 police stations. The “AI Pragya” initiative aims to train one million youth in technology.

Adityanath urged students to stand against injustice, remain connected to their roots, and commit to lifelong learning. He encouraged them to contribute to resolving land and family disputes in rural areas and not compromise their principles under pressure.

Awards were presented to top achievers, including Rupali Jaiswal, who received gold in LLM, and Tejaswini Kaushal, who earned gold in LLB Honors.
