Bhadohi, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to visit Bhadohi on Sunday, where he will unveil over 112 development projects valued at more than ₹1,340 crore. Addressing the region, he emphasized that the local artisans, who once struggled to find their footing, are now being offered new avenues for growth, markets, and opportunities through government initiatives.
In a post on social media platform ‘X’, Adityanath announced the inauguration of the golden jubilee edition of the ‘India Carpet Expo’, Asia’s largest international handmade carpet trade fair. He plans to engage with exporters, sellers, and entrepreneurs in the carpet industry during this event.
The CM highlighted that the 112 projects will benefit the constituencies of Bhadohi, Aurai, and Gyanpur, and that various beneficiaries will receive advantages from government schemes. He stated, “The new Uttar Pradesh is a blend of heritage and development, where artisans receive respect, enterprises expand, and youth find employment.”
Adityanath noted that the state’s exports have surged nearly 2.27 times over the past decade, now exceeding ₹2 lakh crore, positioning Uttar Pradesh as the fifth-largest exporting state in the country. He attributed significant contributions to this growth to Bhadohi’s carpets.
He further remarked that the artisans, who once awaited basic amenities and opportunities before 2017, are now connecting their skills with both development and the global market. The demand for handmade carpets from Bhadohi has skyrocketed worldwide, showcasing the region’s craftsmanship on a global stage.
