Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Approves 23 Major Proposals for Development and Welfare

Lucknow, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : A significant meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took place at the Chief Minister’s residence in Lucknow, where the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved 23 important proposals focused on development and public welfare.

Among the key decisions are the development of the Chitrakoot Link Expressway, transforming government schools into smart schools, promoting the toy industry, providing affordable loans to farmers, and reserving government jobs for former Agniveers.

The Cabinet greenlit a revised project proposal for the Chitrakoot Link Expressway, a six-lane, 15.172-kilometer controlled-access greenfield expressway. The estimated cost of this project is ₹1,008.67 crore, fully funded by the state government. Global bids will be invited for the selection of a contractor, enhancing connectivity from Bundelkhand to Chitrakoot and boosting tourism.

Additionally, a proposal was approved to develop primary schools under the Basic Education Council into smart schools, aiming to improve the educational infrastructure and provide modern facilities to students.

Under the Chief Minister’s Agricultural Prosperity Scheme, small and marginal farmers will receive long-term loans at subsidized interest rates. Through the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Rural Development Bank, loans of up to ₹6 lakh will be available at a six percent annual interest rate, facilitating affordable financial support for agricultural and rural needs.

The Cabinet also approved a proposal to reserve 20 percent of positions in direct recruitment for jail wardens for former Agniveers. Furthermore, these veterans will receive horizontal reservations and age relaxations for positions in the enforcement department.

To support the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) volunteers and their families, the Cabinet decided to provide cashless medical treatment under the Chief Minister’s PAC Cashless Medical Scheme, offering financial relief during health emergencies.

The Uttar Pradesh Toy Manufacturing Incentive Policy-2025 was also approved, aimed at promoting the toy manufacturing industry, attracting investments, and creating job opportunities in the state.

In a move to streamline operations in engineering departments, the Cabinet approved an increase in the financial authority limits for officials under financial regulations.

Other significant proposals related to industrial, fisheries, security, rural, and urban development were also sanctioned. The Cabinet approved the establishment of a 120 KLPD ethanol production plant at the Chhata Sugar Company in Mathura through a concession-lease agreement. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was approved for the WorldFish project in the eastern region.

For security and administrative purposes, about 65 acres of barren land in the Milkipur tehsil of Ayodhya will be allocated free of charge to the Government of India for a National Security Guard (NSG) regional center. The Cabinet also approved exemptions on stamp duty and registration fees for lease agreements of up to ten years.

In rural development, a policy amendment for the establishment of Automatic Testing Stations (ATS) was approved to ensure vehicle technical fitness. The Cabinet also approved an increase in duty allowances for PAC volunteers and decided to provide additional margin money of ₹25 per quintal to fair price shop owners based on the quantity of food grains distributed.
