Union Minister Hardeep Puri Files Nomination for Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh
Hardeep Puri, Union Minister and BJP candidate, submits his nomination for Rajya Sabha in Madhya Pradesh amid political dynamics.

Bhopal, October 31 (Daily Kiran) : Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), submitted his nomination for the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh on Saturday. The event was attended by several senior BJP leaders.
The by-election was prompted by the resignation of Dr. L. Murugan from both his ministerial position and Rajya Sabha membership. In response, the BJP has nominated Puri as its candidate for the upcoming election. He arrived at the assembly complex and filed his nomination papers at the election office.
Puri’s election appears highly likely, as the Congress party has yet to announce a candidate for the Rajya Sabha by-election. Given the current numbers, the BJP candidate is expected to face little opposition. Puri filed his nomination in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and BJP state president and MLA Hemant Khandelwal.
Prominent figures at the event included Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda, Rajendra Shukla, and several party officials and representatives. Before submitting his nomination, Puri visited Gurudwara Sahib in Arera Colony to offer prayers for the prosperity and well-being of the nation.
Among those present were party state general secretary Rahul Kothari, councilor Monu Shikha Gohal, and division president Abhishek Purohit. The state has a total of 11 Rajya Sabha seats, with the BJP holding eight and the Congress two. This by-election presents a strong possibility for the BJP to secure another seat, potentially increasing their total to nine.
The Congress party has been vocal in criticizing the BJP regarding Puri’s candidacy. State Congress president Jitu Patwari has demanded clarity from the BJP concerning documents, emails, and meetings linked to Puri in the Epstein case, urging the party to provide transparent answers to the public.
