Union Minister Giriraj Singh Questions Rahul Gandhis Foreign Trip Funding
Giriraj Singh challenges Rahul Gandhi to disclose funding details for his foreign trips amid rising political tensions in India.

New Delhi, October 23 (Daily Kiran) : Union Minister Giriraj Singh has launched a verbal attack on Congress leader and opposition figure Rahul Gandhi, demanding transparency regarding the funding of his foreign trips. Singh raised concerns over Gandhi’s travels, slogans displayed at universities, and his political activities. He accused Gandhi of seeking power through chaos rather than through democratic elections.
Singh pressed Gandhi to publicly disclose the expenses incurred during his foreign trips over the past twelve years, including ticket arrangements and details of meetings held abroad. He noted that while student movements are occurring globally, opposition leaders in those countries do not behave similarly. Singh suggested that Gandhi appears anxious about the escalating political climate in India and is inclined toward gaining power through force rather than ballots.
As a person holding a constitutional position, Singh argued that Gandhi should clarify the funding sources for his overseas travels. He questioned who bore the costs of these trips and whom Gandhi met while abroad. Singh warned that failing to answer these questions could raise suspicions about foreign influences on Gandhi’s actions.
Commenting on Gandhi’s political standing, Singh observed that since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rise to power, Gandhi’s desperation for authority has intensified. While Modi continues to gain traction in elections, Singh pointed out that Gandhi’s party has struggled to achieve power in several states. He characterized this as a reflection of Gandhi’s political anxiety.
Singh also addressed the controversial slogans “Free Kashmir” and “Free Sharjeel Imam” written on the walls of Jamia Millia Islamia, questioning who was responsible for them. He linked these slogans to protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Shaheen Bagh, alleging that certain forces within the country are attempting to sow division.
He stated that the truth would emerge following an investigation into these matters. Singh further accused some individuals connected to Jamia of trying to secure the release of Sharjeel Imam and of chanting slogans during court-related protests.
