Mumbai, March 1: Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), the third-largest telecom operator in India, has introduced a Rs 99 data voucher for its users. This voucher is notable for its promise of unlimited data. However, as is often the case with Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel, “unlimited” has its limitations. This add-on data pack is only applicable to users who already possess an active prepaid service plan. The data vouchers are specifically designed for prepaid customers and are available across all licensed service areas (LSA).
Vodafone Idea’s Rs 99 Data Voucher: Unlimited Data Explained
The Vodafone Idea Rs 99 data voucher offers unlimited data, but this is not entirely accurate. The data is limited to 20GB per day, with a validity period of 2 days. In total, users receive 40GB of data with this plan. Once the fair usage policy (FUP) limit of 20GB is reached each day, the speed reduces to 64 Kbps.
Essentially, the cost breaks down to approximately Rs 49.5 or Rs 50 for 20GB of data daily. This data is available in 4G, and users already on a 5G plan may find it unnecessary. However, for 4G users who require substantial data for short-term needs, this plan could be a viable option. It’s important to note that this voucher is not the most economical choice. Users might consider opting for unlimited 4G and 5G plans from Vodafone Idea if they plan to recharge with this data voucher twice a month. Doing so would effectively add Rs 200 to their base plan, which typically costs around Rs 200 for most consumers in India.
