UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss to visit India on Thursday, hold talks with EAM

New Delhi, March 28 : UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss will pay an official visit to India on March 31, Thursday, during which she will hold talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar as well as participate in the inaugural edition of the India-UK Strategic Futures Forum. Truss, who is Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs and Minister for Women and Equalities, will hold bilateral consultations with the EAM on bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest. The India-UK Strategic Futures Forum is a track 1.5 Dialogue between the two countries hosted by the Indian Council of World Affairs and Policy Exchange, UK. The India-UK relationship was elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the India-UK Virtual Summit held between the two Prime Ministers on May 4, 2021. This will be second visit of the UK Foreign Secretary to India since the Virtual Summit and would provide an opport ty to assess the progress on the Roadmap 2030 launched during the Virtual Summit, an official statement said. The visit will also serve to further deepen our partnership across various sectors such as trade and investment, science, technology and innovation, defence and security, climate cooperation, education and digital comm cations.
