Two Separate Incidents in Mumbai: Eight Injured in Fall and Fire Destroys Shops

Mumbai, April 24: Two separate incidents in Mumbai late last night and early Friday morning have left eight people injured. One incident occurred near a construction site in the Bhandup area, while the other involved a fire that engulfed several shops in the Mankhurd locality.

The fire broke out around 5 AM in the Ekta Nagar area on GM Link Road. The flames quickly spread, affecting four to five shops. Fire Brigade teams, consisting of six vehicles, arrived promptly to combat the blaze.

Fortunately, there were no reports of anyone being trapped or injured in this incident. Emergency services, including the Fire Brigade, police, ambulances, and staff from the electricity department, PWD, and BMC were deployed to the scene.

The second incident took place near the Metro Mall in Bhandup (West). Several individuals fell into a pit near an under-construction SRA building close to the Janata Market. This incident was reported around 11:29 PM, with police being informed later.

Emergency services, including the Fire Brigade, police, 108 ambulances, and BMC staff, quickly arrived to initiate rescue operations. A total of eight individuals were injured in this incident. Seven of the injured were hospitalized, and their conditions are reported to be stable. The injured include Aniket Kadam (26), Shreyas Surve (25), Jaydeep Shah (21), Sanket Juvatkar (25), Aditya Aaher (26), Aniket Mahesh Patil (20), and Ankit Kumar Rohit (19).

Another injured individual, Bhalchandra Phale (25), has been admitted to a different hospital, where his condition is reported to be serious.
