Kullu, September 27 (Daily Kiran) : In Kullu, preparations are underway for a two-day bus journey and procession to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Valmiki, organized by the Indian Valmiki Dharma Society. This event will take place on October 16 and 17, with participants expected to gather at the sacred Valmiki pilgrimage site.
During a press conference, Swami Giridhari Nath Maharaj highlighted that the Valmiki Jayanti will be celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm across Himachal Pradesh. Members of the Valmiki community and leaders from various regions will partake in the journey. The aim is to connect society with the teachings of Lord Valmiki and to promote religious and social unity.
Swami Giridhari Nath Maharaj noted that a dedicated team is actively involved in the preparations. Previous journeys have successfully departed from Manali and Dharamshala, and this time, the focus is on the pilgrimage site where devotees from across the country will converge.
The procession will include participation from various Valmiki community committees and leaders from different areas of Himachal Pradesh. Attendees will be welcomed and honored at several points along the route. The palanquin of Lord Valmiki will be adorned with flowers as it is carried with reverence to the sacred site.
Lord Valmiki holds immense significance for the Valmiki community, having authored the Ramayana and imparted messages of truth, righteousness, and morality to humanity. This journey aims to strengthen the community’s ties to their religious roots and promote unity.
Vijay Danav, the chairman of the Dalit Development Board of Punjab, expressed his support for the Valmiki community in Himachal Pradesh. He stated that the Indian Valmiki Dharma Society operates as a religious and social organization with activities both domestically and internationally. This upcoming journey will be the third organized from Himachal to the Valmiki pilgrimage.
Danav assured that all arrangements have been made to welcome the devotees upon their arrival in Punjab. Previous journeys maintained a focus on the convenience of the participants, and this time will be no different. Accommodation has been arranged, with the first stop being Shirpur before proceeding to the pilgrimage site.
The primary goal of this journey is to disseminate the teachings of Lord Valmiki to society and to connect the younger generation with their faith, culture, and the wisdom of their guru. The Indian Valmiki Dharma Society is committed to this mission, guided by the ideologies of revered saints.
Swami Paragat Nath Maharaj also called upon community members to participate enthusiastically in the journey, emphasizing its importance as a significant occasion for the society. He urged the people of Himachal Pradesh to join the procession in large numbers.
The organizers have appealed to Valmiki community leaders, youth, women, elders, and devotees from all districts of Himachal Pradesh to participate. They emphasized that this event is not just a religious gathering but also a means to unite the community and introduce future generations to their cultural and religious heritage.
