Mumbai, May 20: South Indian cinema’s beloved actress Trisha Krishnan is basking in the success of her latest film, ‘Karuppu,’ which has recently hit theaters. The film is receiving positive feedback from audiences.
On Wednesday, Trisha expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming love from fans. She shared behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, featuring herself alongside actor Surya, the director, and the rest of the team.
Trisha conveyed her joy, stating, “This beautiful month of May has brought me yet another special victory. It’s all just the grace of God.”
In her post, she tagged her team and co-star Surya.
Directed by R.J. Balaji, the Tamil action-drama ‘Karuppu’ stars Trisha alongside actor Surya in lead roles. The film has been praised for its action sequences, particularly Surya’s ‘God-level’ avatar and Trisha’s performance.
Originally slated for release on May 14, the film faced delays due to financial disputes, which resulted in the cancellation of the morning shows on its opening day. However, thanks to Surya’s personal intervention and the approval of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister ‘Thalapathi’ Vijay for a special morning show, the film successfully premiered in theaters on May 15.
The storyline revolves around the fight against corruption and the pursuit of justice. It tells the tale of a father who comes to Chennai to raise funds for his daughter’s liver transplant. During his quest for justice, a lawyer (played by Surya) embodies the local deity ‘Karuppasamy’ to battle the corrupt system. Trisha plays the role of lawyer ‘Preeti,’ who supports him in this struggle.
In the film, Surya portrays a double role as ‘Karuppuswamy’ and ‘Saravanan,’ while Trisha Krishnan appears as lawyer ‘Preeti.’ The cast also includes Indrans (Sukumaran), S. Shivda, Natarajan Subramaniam (Magistrate Rajanayagam), and Yogi Babu among other supporting actors.
Director Balaji also plays the role of ‘Baby’ Kannan and is a co-writer for the film.
