Trinamool Congress Emerges as the Peoples Choice in West Bengal, Says Yusuf Pathan

Vadodara, April 27: Yusuf Pathan, a Member of Parliament from the Trinamool Congress (TMC), cast his vote in the local body elections in Gujarat on Sunday. He emphasized that public preference and good governance are key factors that will keep the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in power for decades in the state.

After voting, Pathan stated, “I believe that the BJP cannot be removed from power in Gujarat for the next 40 to 50 years. Regardless of circumstances, facts remain facts. The reality is that the party that is strong, works for the people, and is favored by them stays in power. Across India, in various states, the parties that receive public support and are seen as working for the people are the ones they prefer and vote for.”

He further added, “My response is that the people here favor the BJP and vote for it based on development, which is why the BJP will remain in power in Gujarat. Similarly, in West Bengal, the TMC is the people’s favorite because it voices their concerns and works among them.”

Citing voting trends in West Bengal, Pathan mentioned that even if the 9.2 million voters are included, the voter turnout will still be around 80-81 percent. There is nothing particularly noteworthy in the figures; it is merely a matter of counting and percentage adjustments.

His comments come at a time when extensive local body elections are taking place in Gujarat’s municipalities, municipal corporations, and Panchayati Raj institutions. According to official arrangements, the counting of votes is scheduled for April 28.
