Greater Noida, February 27: Indian cricket star Rinku Singh’s father, Khan Chand Singh, passed away on Friday morning after a prolonged battle with liver cancer. The news of his demise has prompted heartfelt condolences from former cricket legends Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh.
Yuvraj Singh expressed his sorrow on X, stating, “I am heartbroken to hear about Rinku’s father’s passing. In such moments, no words seem sufficient. We stand with you and your family during this difficult time. May you find strength and courage in the love surrounding you.”
Harbhajan Singh also took to X to share his condolences, saying, “I am saddened to learn about the passing of Khan Chand Singh, Rinku Singh’s father. This will be a challenging time for Rinku and his family, even as he remains committed to his responsibilities during the T20 World Cup. My heartfelt prayers are with him and his loved ones. May Waheguru grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the grieving family.”
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) also expressed their sympathies on X, stating, “We extend our deepest condolences to Rinku Singh and his family during this challenging time. Our prayers are with them.”
Reports indicate that Rinku Singh’s father took his last breath at 4:36 AM on Friday. He was receiving treatment at Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida. Rinku has returned home to participate in his father’s last rites.
Rinku Singh is currently part of the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2026. He had visited Noida to see his ailing father before the match against Zimbabwe on Thursday in Chennai. However, he was not included in the playing eleven for that game.
Rinku comes from a family of five brothers, and his father worked in cylinder delivery. Despite their financial struggles, Rinku drew inspiration from his father’s relentless work ethic to pursue a career in cricket and achieve success in the sport.
