
Morena, February 9: A tragic incident occurred in the village of Aharouli, Morena district, Madhya Pradesh, where the roof slab of a temple suddenly collapsed, resulting in the immediate deaths of three young girls. All three victims were residents of the same village.
The accident took place while construction work was ongoing at the temple. Members of the Gaud community from Mungawali had come to offer prasad at the temple. After the offerings, as the girls and women were near the temple, the slab fell during the ongoing construction. Four women were also seriously injured in the incident. The injured were promptly taken to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
According to local reports, residents indicated that repair and construction work had been ongoing at the temple for some time. At the time of the incident, adequate safety measures were reportedly not in place at the construction site, leading to this unfortunate accident. Police arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and initiated an investigation. Authorities assessed the situation and assured that they would provide all possible assistance for the treatment of the injured.
The families of the deceased girls are in mourning, and a wave of grief has swept through the village. Residents are expressing anger over the incident, blaming negligence during the construction work. The police have begun questioning the contractor and other relevant individuals. The investigation aims to determine whether safety standards were adhered to at the construction site.
