
Latur, April 23: A tragic road accident occurred in the Bhandara district of Maharashtra, resulting in the death of five individuals and leaving two others critically injured. The incident involved a van carrying wedding guests that crashed while returning from a ceremony.
The accident took place in the Saundad area of Pavni Taluka, under the jurisdiction of the Adyal police station. Reports indicate that the wedding attendees were en route from Konda village to Adyal when the mishap occurred.
According to initial information, there were nine people in the van. Four women and one man died at the scene, while two others sustained serious injuries, and two more suffered minor wounds.
Preliminary reports suggest that a tire burst caused the driver to lose control, leading to a collision with an oncoming trailer, resulting in this devastating accident.
Upon receiving news of the incident, local police and residents rushed to the site to initiate rescue operations. The critically injured were transported to Bhandara for medical treatment, while two minors were treated at the rural hospital in Adyal.
The Adyal police confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the causes of the accident.
In a related incident, amidst the severe heat in Latur district, a fire in a cattle shed resulted in the death of seven animals, causing significant financial loss to the farmer.
Reports indicate that a fire broke out unexpectedly in the fields of farmer Gyanoba Narayan Bhojane, located near Nandgaon Road in Janval, Latur. The intense heat exacerbated the situation, rapidly escalating the fire. Seven animals perished on the spot, and farming equipment was also destroyed.
Following the incident, farmer Gyanoba Bhojane has appealed to the authorities for immediate assistance, citing substantial economic losses and urging the government for prompt compensation.
