
Mumbai, May 18: A severe road accident occurred in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday morning. A high-speed truck collided head-on with a Tata Magic vehicle carrying passengers near Sisaiya on NH-730.
The impact of the crash was so intense that the Tata Magic was completely destroyed, leading to chaos at the scene. Reports confirm that nine people lost their lives, including women, while several others sustained serious injuries.
According to sources, there were approximately ten individuals in the Tata Magic. Local residents and police quickly assisted in transporting the injured to nearby hospitals, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences regarding this tragic incident. In a post on the social media platform X, he stated, “The loss of life in the unfortunate road accident in Lakhimpur Kheri is extremely saddening and heart-wrenching. My sympathies are with the grieving families. I have instructed the local administration to provide prompt and adequate assistance to the injured and affected.” He also prayed for the departed souls and wished for the swift recovery of the injured.
Earlier, a tragic road accident occurred on the Purvanchal Expressway in Azamgarh on Saturday, resulting in the immediate deaths of five individuals. Reports indicate that a speeding Swift Desire car crashed into a container from behind. The collision was so severe that the car was completely wrecked, and all passengers died at the scene. This incident took place near milestone number 238 in the Kandharapur police station area.
