
Ujjain, March 4: In a tragic incident in the religious city of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, two teenagers drowned in a pond. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter. The boys had gone for a swim after celebrating Holi.
According to reports, the two teenagers drowned while bathing in the Lakshmi Sarovar pond located in the Radha Pipliya village of the Nanakheda police station area. Efforts were made to rescue them, but unfortunately, they were unsuccessful.
The victims have been identified as Deepesh and Rohit. It is reported that they went to the pond after playing Holi. Another teenager named Shubham was with them. He stated that both boys ventured into deeper water while swimming and subsequently drowned. He alerted the villagers, who rushed to the scene and managed to pull Deepesh and Rohit out of the water.
The boys were taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead by doctors. The news of this tragedy has cast a pall of grief over the village, and preparations are underway for the post-mortem of both bodies.
During festivals and other occasions, large numbers of people often visit water bodies for bathing, with teenagers being a significant portion of the crowd. Such incidents have become common during these times, primarily due to a lack of safety measures and an inability to gauge the depth of the water.
