
Hyderabad, May 7: A tragic incident in Siddipet district, Telangana, resulted in the drowning of three young men. The police reported the unfortunate event on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Wednesday in the Nacharam area of the Vargal mandal, but it came to light the following day.
According to police, the three young men drowned in the Haldi Vagu stream near Nacharam. Their bodies were recovered on Thursday morning. The deceased have been identified as Yerragola Prashanth (27), Vikas (26), and K. Anand Reddy (27).
All three were residents of Narsapur village in the same district. They had come to Tuparan to attend a friend’s wedding. After the ceremony, they visited the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Nacharam. While returning, they entered the stream. When they did not return, their friends began searching for them. Their bodies were retrieved from the stream on Thursday morning.
The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem examinations at a government hospital. Reports indicate that none of the three could swim, yet they ventured deep into the water and drowned. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
In a separate incident, three people were injured in a road accident near Venkateshwaralapalli in the Kohir mandal of Siddipet district. According to police, a vehicle loaded with mangoes overturned, injuring three individuals on board. Local residents collected the scattered mangoes from the road following the accident.
Additionally, in another road incident in the Suryapet district of Telangana, a private travel agency bus collided with a DCM vehicle. The private bus was en route from Hyderabad to Vijayawada when the accident occurred.
Police reported that around 30 passengers were on the bus, and some sustained minor injuries. Authorities arrived at the scene and transported the injured to a nearby hospital. Preliminary investigations suggest that the bus driver may have dozed off, leading to the collision. The police have registered a case and are conducting an inquiry.
