
Bhopal, April 25: A devastating explosion in the town of Biyawara has shocked the community. The incident, involving a cooking gas cylinder, resulted in one fatality and left another person critically injured.
According to police officials, the explosion occurred around 5 AM near the Shivdham Colony on the Rajgarh Bypass Road, causing widespread panic in the area.
Residents, startled by the loud blast, rushed out of their homes as flames engulfed the kitchen of the affected house.
The explosion took place at the residence of 60-year-old Surendra Singh Bhalla, who was at home with his wife, Padma Bhalla.
Authorities reported that an LPG cylinder in the kitchen suddenly caught fire, leading to a rapid spread of flames that culminated in a powerful explosion. The intensity of the blast damaged parts of the house and created chaos in the vicinity.
Both Surendra Singh and Padma suffered severe burns. Neighbors quickly intervened and rushed the couple to the civil hospital in Biyawara.
After initial treatment, doctors referred them to a hospital in Bhopal due to their critical condition. Unfortunately, Surendra Singh succumbed to his injuries while being transported near Narsinghgarh.
Padma’s condition remains serious, and she continues to receive medical care.
Officials indicated that the house had both PNG and LPG connections, raising questions about the source of the fire. Preliminary investigations suggest a possible gas leak or technical malfunction, though the exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
Upon receiving the news, police and administrative officials arrived at the scene. The deceased’s body has been sent to the civil hospital in Biyawara for postmortem, and an accidental death case has been registered. A forensic team is also inspecting the site to ascertain the precise cause of the explosion.
