Tragic Collision in Madhya Pradesh Claims Two Lives and Injures 21

Rajgarh, April 28: A tragic accident occurred in Rajgarh district, Madhya Pradesh, when a speeding truck collided with a pickup vehicle carrying members of the same family. This devastating incident resulted in the deaths of two women and left 21 others injured.

The victims were part of the Yadav family from Mavasa village in Khujner tehsil, en route to a traditional pre-wedding ceremony in Barkheda village. The collision took place early Tuesday morning, causing severe damage to the pickup truck, with several passengers trapped inside.

Local authorities and police quickly arrived at the scene, initiating a rescue operation and transporting all victims to Pachor Civil Hospital. Despite immediate medical assistance, two women, identified as Avanti Bai and Bhagwati Bai, were pronounced dead. The condition of two other passengers remains critical.

Given the severity of their injuries, one individual was referred to Shajapur District Hospital for specialized treatment, while another was admitted to a hospital in Bhopal for advanced care. The remaining 19 injured individuals are currently receiving treatment in Pachor, where doctors are monitoring their recovery.

The truck driver also sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Pachor Hospital. He remains in police custody as investigations continue. Initial reports suggest that the family was celebrating a wedding, but this sudden tragedy has cast a shadow over their joy.

Police officials have registered a case concerning the incident and are investigating the causes of the collision, which may involve speeding or negligence by the truck driver. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations and will be handed over to grieving relatives in Mavasa village afterward.
