Mumbai, May 8: A tragic incident unfolded in Greater Noida last night, highlighting the dangers of speeding on the roads. A severe collision occurred between a canter and a trailer in the Beta-2 police station area, resulting in the death of the canter driver. The accident caused chaos at the scene, leading to a significant traffic jam.
Upon receiving the report, police arrived promptly to initiate rescue operations. Eyewitnesses stated that both vehicles were traveling at high speeds when they collided uncontrollably. The impact was so intense that the front of the canter was completely wrecked, trapping the driver inside. Nearby residents rushed to the scene upon hearing the crash and alerted the authorities. With the help of locals, the severely injured driver was extricated and taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The deceased has been identified as Sant Kumar, originally from Kasganj. The police have taken possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination while launching an investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings suggest that excessive speed and loss of vehicle control were contributing factors to the accident.
Authorities are currently reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras to ascertain the exact cause of the collision.
